How to Find Your PayPal API Keys

Follow these step-by-step instructions to locate and enable your PayPal API credentials for integrations like Klavena, including enabling transaction search and ensuring you’re in live mode.

Steps to Find Your PayPal API Credentials

Go to PayPal Sign-In and log in to your account.

Navigate to the Developer tab (or visit developer.paypal.com). Make sure you are in Live mode, not Sandbox. You can toggle this at the top right of the Apps & Credentials page.

Click on Apps & Credentials in the dashboard.

Select Create New App.

Enter a name for your app (e.g., “Klavena”) and click Create App.

Scroll down and enable Transaction Search to allow Klavena to read your transactions. Click Save Changes.

Copy your Client ID and Secret — these are your API credentials.

Important Notes

  • Always use Live API credentials for real transactions; Sandbox mode is only for testing.
  • Keep your Secret secure and do not share it publicly.
  • Make sure you enable Transaction Search and click Save Changes so that Klavena can load your transactions.
